Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to miss three or four weeks, Unai Emery said before Villa face Viking in the Champions League. Johan Manzambi misses Viking with a small injury. Matteo Ruggeri is out about two months, Amadou Onana "for a long time." Ian Maatsen is back in training.
Boubacar Kamara is "getting again his feet" after two long injuries, Unai Emery said before Villa face Viking in the Champions League. "He came back strongly the first time, and now the second time, progress as well." He expects Kamara back to his best.
"I thought Kulusevski just for the fans, just for the fans, because they waited him on the pitch." Roberto De Zerbi on sending on a returning Dejan Kulusevski for Mohammed Kudus, who could have finished. With James Maddison back too, Spurs have "another atmosphere."
"If we don't react together in the tough moment, we have to change sport. We have to play golf." Roberto De Zerbi on Spurs reacting after conceding to Man United and Coventry. Before Old Trafford, he told a squad meeting: "We can't move on if we don't take more responsibility."
Midfield injuries pushed Spurs to a back three, Roberto De Zerbi said. Conor Gallagher returned two days before the game after medics warned he might miss it; Mateus Fernandes had trained only the last two days. No new injuries, Andrew Robertson included: "nothing important."
"I thought VAR would cancel it." Coventry's Frank Lampard said Omar Marmoush's elbow was high and hit Milan van Ewijk on the Spurs goal. He cited a corner, a foul on Brandon Thomas-Asante and a late advantage not played: "the little bits add up... That's all I'll say about it."
Marc Guéhi has played every minute of Man City's eight-day run against Liverpool, PSG and Ipswich, with recovery and sleep between games in place of training. "No, not strain. I'm grateful to be fit and healthy." He took the blame for the Ipswich goals: "that is down to me."
Dominik Szoboszlai did not worsen his injury playing through it against Brentford, Andoni Iraola said, but he misses Liverpool's Champions League game against Villarreal: "probably we have to be a little bit more patient." Ryan Gravenberch is back.
"Maybe it's not the one you are thinking": Andoni Iraola hinted at changes to Liverpool's starting XI against Villarreal in the Champions League because "some players are not fresh enough" after Brentford, which he called their most demanding game for running.
"I'm not going to deny that I feel more comfortable playing as a centre-back," Ronald Araujo said, but he will give everything at right-back for Liverpool. Andoni Iraola raised the role in their first conversation. A permanent move? "A bit early," Araujo said.
Jeremie Frimpong misses Liverpool's Champions League game against Villarreal with a new injury Andoni Iraola called "massive", picked up two or three minutes after coming on. A return before the international break? "We will try, but it's going to be difficult."
Morgan Gibbs-White sat out Forest's 18 October defeat to Arsenal by choice, not necessity, Oliver Glasner said, with Ipswich away five days later: "if this is the final game of the year, he would have played... I didn't want to take any risks."
Nicolás Domínguez made his first Forest start in the 18 October defeat to Arsenal. Manager Oliver Glasner said he wanted "players with the best energy on the pitch and Nico Dominguez always has energy."
Morgan Gibbs-White said he was fine, but Forest manager Oliver Glasner left him out against Arsenal after he felt his muscle in a few situations. Glasner would not risk a 4-6 week reinjury: "I didn't want to take any risk... I expect him being back for the Ipswich game."
Eberechi Eze, who scored against Lille three days earlier, was hooked at half-time of Arsenal's win at Forest on 18 October. Mikel Arteta said the game needed something different: "We needed a different kind of profile in that left-hand side, and I'm here to make decisions."
Michael Carrick called the draw at Leeds "a bit of a fresh start" for Man United, with the squad's mood beforehand the best in a long time. On sitting in the bottom half: "We're not accepting it as everything's great by any stretch." He still believes in a really good season.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin stayed standing as Leeds took the knee before the 1-1 with Man United, amid some booing. Daniel Farke said he always shows respect by standing and each individual is different. Farke said he "wasn't even aware" the team would kneel but backs the campaign.
"It was not the time for our perhaps technical players who can find the easy little pass." Daniel Farke on leaving Harry Wilson and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya unused as Leeds chased a winner against Man United. He chose the "physicality and experience" of Lukas Nmecha and Sean Longstaff.
"That's our best win against them. We've owed them that for a little while," said Lewis Dunk after his 23rd meeting with Palace. Brighton are on their best ever Premier League start, six games in. Fabian Hürzeler: "We have to stay very humble. The season will be long."
Bruno Fernandes played the full game centrally at Leeds. "Nah, he's alright now. It's not a big deal," said Man United's Michael Carrick. Carlos Baleba and Andrey Santos started again, "a pretty fresh spine," with other midfielders "not quite with us yet" for injuries.
Bryan Mbeumo, who has scored two weeks running, had a "slightly adapted role" at Leeds, Man United's Michael Carrick said: same in possession, "a little bit different defensively." Amad is asked "to defend a little bit more off the right depending on who we're playing against."
"I know I had also to follow the man better." Tarik Muharemović owned the goal Leeds conceded in the 1-1 Man United draw; Daniel Farke told players at half-time it "was not necessary". On the point: "I'm not that happy because we know we could have gone for more."
"We have got to start winning football matches soon, and that's what Manchester United demands." Harry Maguire after the draw at Leeds, calling the point "probably a fair result." Michael Carrick wanted all three points but saw a lot in the performance.
"One more mistake and 2-0 down. So it's the perfect summary of the afternoon." Régis Le Bris on Sunderland's 2-0 defeat, a goal down in six minutes and with 10 men from the 15th. Le Bris called it hard to take. Robin Roefs: "We just give it away too easily."
"He knows where he can find me. I stay in my office from 8:30 until the evening." Spurs' Roberto De Zerbi on Richarlison's social media posts. Asked about a January move, he said he'd decided nothing and it's no longer his problem: ask Vinay Venkatesham and Johan Lange.
Spurs' Sávio is out "for some weeks" with a muscle problem, Roberto De Zerbi said. Lucas Bergvall hurt his knee in Manchester, played on, and is out about two weeks. Dejan Kulusevski, who "suffered too much", is on the bench against Coventry. Pedro Porro "maybe" plays at Chelsea.
Bruno Fernandes had been carrying an issue, which is why Portugal managed his minutes, Man United's Michael Carrick said: "He's pretty much over that now." Marcus Rashford, who pulled out of the England squad with a slight injury, has "managed that a little bit."
"After our poor start, we have to try to keep balance in the table." Unai Emery says the Premier League is Villa's priority despite the Champions League win over Fenerbahçe. With Man City on 24 October and a Carabao Cup tie to come, he'll keep sharing minutes.
Hull's Robinio Vaz was stretchered off late against Fulham with Achilles pain and goes for a scan. "It's a very big kick between calf and Achilles," said head coach Sergej Jakirović, who hopes it is nothing serious and agreed the challenge was not malicious.
Mohamed-Ali Cho and Lucas Gourna-Douath are back from injury and options again for Hull City, head coach Sergej Jakirović said after facing Fulham. Hull have set up an extra game on 20 October to get them minutes.
"Maybe this is the worst first halftime since I'm here." Hull City's Sergej Jakirović said his side were completely out of it against Fulham and made 140 passes all game, "incredibly small". At half-time he pushed John Egan into midfield to match Alex Iwobi.
Brooke Norton-Cuffy started on the left for Hull City against Fulham because, head coach Sergej Jakirović said, "Brooke played this in Genoa last season mostly on the left wing-back." Jakirović hoped he could control the left-footed Oscar Bobb.
"We need to look at ourselves and not the officials." Keith Andrews said Yehor Yarmoliuk must learn from his red card in Brentford's loss to Liverpool. Losing him and Vitaly Janelt: "It'll be a challenge. That's why we have a squad." Cover: Mamadou Sangaré and Mathias Jensen.
Kevin Schade, carrying an injury, was a second-half sub in Brentford's loss to Liverpool. Keith Andrews said Mathias Jensen's half-time exit, back from injury, was planned, not about form. Sepp van den Berg, first start since surgery, came off after pushing hard with 10 men.
"No hesitation about starting Dango. He was brilliant." Keith Andrews on Dango Ouattara, who came into Brentford's starting XI for the injured Kevin Schade in the 17 October loss to Liverpool, their first defeat of the season. Andrews: "We'll reset and we'll go again."
Yehor Yarmoliuk and Vitaly Janelt, sent off in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, are suspended. Brentford head coach Keith Andrews: "Yarmo needs to do better, so I can understand why it was a red." Janelt's second yellow? "Could there have been a bit more common sense? I think so."
Liverpool arrived late from a Champions League away game two days before the Brentford win, with no proper recovery. Andoni Iraola was left "in doubt between the players that have already started two games and are very tired, or the players that are recovering from injuries."
Liverpool will lose Jeremie Frimpong and Dominik Szoboszlai "for some time", Andoni Iraola said. Frimpong had ended the last game cramping, but against 10 men Iraola picked him over Ronald Araujo: "he could give us more." Szoboszlai's injury was probably not healed enough.
Phil Foden is back from suspension for Man City v Ipswich on 17 October, but Enzo Maresca won't say if he starts: City played 48 hours earlier, Ipswich had a week. He's weighing rest "at some point" for Erling Haaland, Elliot Anderson, Enzo Fernández, Marc Guéhi and Rúben Dias.
Mateo Kovačić and Matheus Nunes went off but told Enzo Maresca they were okay. The Man City manager will protect Ayyoub Bouaddi after his first Premier League start: "he's very young, he's coming from France... we need to help him not put him... under pressure every game"
Antoine Semenyo is the one Man City need to "wait a little bit" on, said Enzo Maresca. Asked if Erling Haaland, who appeared to limp off, has a knee injury, Maresca said: "I don't know. I asked him, he said that he was okay." Nico O'Reilly still has the back issue from Coventry.
"When you're only getting six or seven attacks at the Etihad, to lose three of them to wrongly given offsides is tough to take." Gary O'Neil said Ipswich's Dara O'Shea, Issa Diop and Abdoul Ouattara were wrongly flagged but admitted poor decisions of their own hurt too.
The deep, compact setup Ipswich used at Man City is one Gary O'Neil has now used against City three times, including a home win with Wolves. "I'm sure it's something that I'll use again." Daizen Maeda, who scored, played higher than normal to run at City's high line.
Saša Lukić missed Ipswich's defeat at Man City with a slight groin problem, held out as a precaution. "It was important that we didn't take any unnecessary risks with him," Gary O'Neil said. He expects Lukić to be involved in the next Premier League game, against Forest.
Emiliano Martínez has a concussion. Chelsea's Xabi Alonso said he left conscious and is having precautionary hospital tests: "I saw just one clip and we need to wait now." Pep Chavarría felt something in training and has a test on 18 October. Malo Gusto missed the game ill.
"He has personality, he's brave, and we have full trust with him." Chelsea's Xabi Alonso on Mike Penders, used in the cup games and in goal at Everton with Emiliano Martínez concussed. His first outfield change came in the 90th: "It's not a plan... The team was looking good."
Jorrel Hato, in for Pep Chavarría after what Xabi Alonso called his "little problem", got on the end of Morgan Rogers' pass for Chelsea's first goal in a clean-sheet win at Everton. The Chelsea manager said Hato "did really well" in the first game since.
Christian Nørgaard still has a way to go on fitness: "we're trying to get him some minutes into him," Everton's David Moyes said. James Garner, back from a groin injury and in the England squad, has "a little bit to go to get to his best levels, which he showed last year."
Merlin Röhl started for Everton ahead of Tyrique George, Brennan Johnson and Tyler Dibling to face Chelsea's Pep Chavarría, but David Moyes said "when we got here he wasn't playing". Röhl did better at right back, he said. Moyes hadn't seen Emiliano Martínez's injury.
William Saliba's injury is "the second one in a really similar area. So we didn't know exactly the time frames of that," Mikel Arteta said, on why Arsenal signed Ezri Konsa. Asked if Saliba walks back in over Konsa once fit, he wouldn't commit: "great problem to have."
Noni Madueke "will have more minutes in the next few games," Mikel Arteta said before Arsenal's league game at Forest on 18 October. Using him on the left is down to necessity more than tactics, but he can play either wing and "he's enjoying playing there."
"They need to train more then. What I don't want is an excuse." Mikel Arteta rejected the idea that Arsenal's rotated players lack rhythm, ahead of the league game at Forest on 18 October, and said everyone in the squad will keep getting minutes.
Amad is back in Man United's squad for the Premier League trip to Leeds and could make his 100th appearance: "an important player," said Michael Carrick. He hopes Noussair Mazraoui, after "a little bit of training", is involved, but won't commit to Matthijs de Ligt starting.
Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke have both stepped in on Arsenal's left and kept the level up, Mikel Arteta said ahead of the league game at Forest on 18 October: "somebody has come in, whether it's Ebs or Noni in this case, and they still perform and do really well."
Arsenal's William Saliba (back) has another scan to come; Mikel Arteta said "every sign so far has been very, very positive". Christos Tzolis hoped back "in a few weeks", Piero Hincapié needs "another week or 2". Martín Zubimendi faces a late test for the league game at Forest.
Myles Lewis-Skelly has been moved out of midfield to cover at left-back, with Piero Hincapié injured and the fixtures piling up. Mikel Arteta admitted Arsenal are lighter there: "When a player is in such a good moment playing a certain position, to change him is not ideal."
On Viktor Gyökeres losing his place, Arsenal's Mikel Arteta pointed to service: "He's 3 or 4 times in front of goal with no keeper, and the ball should arrive to him and it doesn't... It's very small margins." Is his confidence low? "That's a very personal question."
Pierre Sage on Palace v Brighton, 18 October: "Some of our players of the starting 11 this year were substitutes last year... they have to take a personal revenge." He would not commit on Jean-Philippe Mateta, Ben Chilwell, Takehiro Tomiyasu or Dean Henderson pending training.
"He's just not quite been himself," Keith Andrews said of Dango Ouattara, ill on Burkina Faso duty. The Brentford boss has no real concerns and expects him to play a lot of minutes. Yehor Yarmoliuk's shin, which cost him last season's finale, needed careful managing all summer.
Mamadou Sangaré has not started Brentford's last two games, but Keith Andrews says that is not solely down to the midfielder. "Mamadou has been outstanding since he's come in," the manager said. "Mamadou will play a lot more games for us, a lot more minutes."
Keane Lewis-Potter, a left-back in pre-season, played the No 10 role in Brentford's draw at Villa. Manager Keith Andrews has always seen him as versatile: "I can see him playing in different positions and that's why we went with him."
Jannik Schuster and Kevin Schade, both off injured at Villa, have trained on the grass, but Keith Andrews would not commit to either for Brentford v Liverpool on 17 October. He is "fully anticipating" Nathan Collins, Sepp van den Berg and Mikkel Damsgaard being involved.
"Not 80%, to be 100%": Unai Emery picks Villa's side for Newcastle (Premier League, 17 October) after training; some are tired or sore from Fenerbahçe, none injured. Ross Barkley played 85 minutes "with some pain" and Emery wouldn't commit. George Hemmings may rejoin the group.
Gary O'Neil expects Ipswich at full strength for the Premier League trip to Man City on 17 October, with a couple of knocks checked that morning. Changes are on the table: "it would be silly of me to go there and not to change a few things." Nothing is confirmed.
Christian Walton is Ipswich's number one goalkeeper again. A preseason foot fracture let Kjell Scherpen start the season; Walton was told he was back before the Everton game. Gary O'Neil says Scherpen and Alex Palmer are both pushing him: "He's been excellent for us."
Jaden Philogene, Jack Clarke or Daizen Maeda: "It'll be one of them 3, I'm sure," Gary O'Neil says of Ipswich's left wing at Man City on 17 October. Philogene started there against Fulham with Abdul Fatawu absent on the right, and is "getting back to real sharpness."
"If you name him on the bench, he covers 5 positions." Ipswich manager Gary O'Neil on Abdoul Ouattara, who can play right-back, midfield and left-back. O'Neil expects him to get a good test from Jérémy Doku in the Premier League trip to Man City on 17 October.
"There's probably more chance that they rotate a little bit, but not definite." Gary O'Neil on Man City, hosts of his Ipswich side on 17 October in a three-game week including PSG. On City's financial rules breach: "If we win the game... I'm sure we get 3 points. So let's win."
Chelsea captain Reece James is out after surgery on a training injury. Xabi Alonso: "It's not going to be a 2-3 weeks thing. It's going to be longer." Emmanuel Emegha misses Everton with a knock. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is still a few weeks away. No other new injuries.
Moisés Caicedo, Jordan Henderson, Roméo Lavia and Valentín Barco are Chelsea's midfield options with Reece James out, Xabi Alonso said, praising Caicedo and Henderson against Bournemouth. He said the squad can cover four Premier League games and a cup tie before the break.
A back five without the ball is an option for Chelsea in the Premier League at Everton. Xabi Alonso, whose side defended in a 4-4-2 against Bournemouth, kept both shapes open: "It can be in a 4-4-2, it can be in a 5-2-3."
Oliver Glasner: Nicolò Savona and Igor Jesus miss Forest's Premier League game with Arsenal on 18 October. Morgan Gibbs-White is doubtful; the injury "doesn't seem to be very serious". Nikola Milenković, back in training after weeks out, "could be in the matchday squad".
"I should have said score a goal." Oliver Glasner says Forest made the better chances he asked for; he forgot to tell them to take them. Chris Wood then spoke to the squad on missed chances: "there's always another one around the corner."
Joe Rodon misses Leeds v Man United: Daniel Farke has him in week seven of an eight-to-ten-week injury, not yet in team training, and won't rush a man who'd "go on the pitch even with one leg." Daniel James (back) has a chance of facing his old club. All others seem available.
Noah Okafor is told to play at 100%, and because his big frame makes repeated sprinting tiring, Leeds manager Daniel Farke often takes him off after around 70 minutes. "So he hardly can score a goal in the last 20 minutes. So I should take the blame for this," Farke joked.
Leeds substitutes are on notice. Daniel Farke agreed his bench has made little impact, including against Palace and Arsenal, and warned: "If you don't make an impact, then quite often it's also a chance perhaps that someone else comes in. So there is competition."
Jarrad Branthwaite picked up a problem "really early" in Everton's last game and David Moyes didn't commit on him for Chelsea. Christian Nørgaard could be used "at certain times if required" but Moyes doesn't know if he's ready to start. Vitalii Mykolenko has "a chance."
Tyrique George could displace Jack Grealish on the left, David Moyes said: "Absolutely. I think Tyrique's knocking on the door." The Everton manager added George can probably play on either flank, so his way into the starting XI need not run only through Grealish.
Jake O'Brien is "going to have to wait his turn and wait to see when the opportunity comes up for him," David Moyes said. The Everton manager said the centre-backs ahead of O'Brien, captain James Tarkowski among them, have played very well.
Lisandro Martínez is in Man United's squad at Leeds on 18 October. Michael Carrick says the outburst is closed once Martínez acknowledged it: "It's really not a drama for us as a group." Benjamin Sesko is "a little bit further away". On Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo: "We'll see."
Kaoru Mitoma will miss Brighton's Premier League game against Palace, and Fabian Hürzeler didn't list him as an option for later games either. Yankuba Minteh is out too, but "for the next games there might be options". Pascal Struijk is a doubt pending another check.
Fulham's Hugo Larsson has a groin problem; manager Álvaro Arbeloa is "not sure" he'll face Hull in the Premier League. Antonee Robinson and everyone else are fit. Arbeloa called criticism of his late Ipswich subs fair: "I could bring on some players that can keep the ball."
Georginio Rutter scored twice and Michael Svoboda was "really good" on his first start in Brighton's 4-0 Conference League win over Kauno Zalgiris. Fabian Hürzeler says it opens up the starting XI for Palace: "we have now competition... who will play, who will start."
Brian Madjo is back with the Villa group after injury ahead of Newcastle in the Premier League on 17 October, but Unai Emery wants patience: Nicolas Jackson scored twice and Tammy Abraham once in the Champions League rout of Fenerbahce. "We can't play with three strikers."
Ibrahim Mbaye has now started back-to-back games for Aston Villa, at Coventry and then against Fenerbahce in the Champions League on 14 October. Unai Emery said he "gave us a lot of things positive offensively." Next: Newcastle in the Premier League on 17 October.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, usually a right-back, is adapting to left-back at Aston Villa and gaining confidence there, Unai Emery said on 14 October: "Aaron is adapting in the left side as a fullback." Villa face Newcastle in the Premier League on 17 October.
"I've really missed it these last 6, 7 weeks... it was really nice to be back out there." Jack Hinshelwood played in Brighton's Conference League win over Kauno Zalgiris; recovery for Palace is next. Last season's home result against them "hurt a lot."
A late winner at Torreense gave Sunderland a Europa League win on their first European night in 53 years. Noah Sadiki got it, his first goal for the club, after Granit Xhaka set him up and shouted at him to shoot. "We are not dead," Sadiki said.
Josh Eccles is still not back on Coventry's training pitch after an ankle problem picked up returning from a calf injury. Frank Lampard hopes he will progress "in the next 2 or 3 weeks", and Luke Woolfenden is "maybe a little bit longer than that, we're thinking now."
Kaine Kesler-Hayden is pushing Milan van Ewijk for Coventry's right-back spot. "Kaine's training with us, so he's available," Frank Lampard said ahead of the Premier League game at Spurs, adding that he has come back sharp and is a live challenger for the place.
Sidiki Cherif's goal on his full league debut against Newcastle has opened up the fight for Coventry's striker spot. Frank Lampard says Cherif and Ellis Simms are pushing each other before the Premier League trip to Spurs: "It's good competition in a critical area of the pitch."
Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, short of minutes this season, impressed Frank Lampard with 30-plus minutes off the Coventry bench against Newcastle. "It gives me a lot to think about for what the next starting team is or when I'm making subs in the future," Lampard said ahead of Spurs.
Joelinton could start against Villa: "it could be a bit different" for him, Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle said. Bazoumana Touré is "much better" after his knock at Coventry, and Jaissle hopes he rejoins the group on 17 October. He left his XI "open" after that 4-1 loss.
Sean Steur is "knocking on the door due to his quality" but "needs also time", Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle said before Villa. Steur, who did not start at Coventry, is a similar profile to Nico González, but Jaissle said "there's always a potential also to see both."
Newcastle's Matthias Jaissle: Anthony Elanga is "out for many, many weeks" but may partially rejoin training soon, as may Jacob Ramsey. A Villa start likely comes too soon for Dan Burn, who has "just trained a couple of times". Tino Livramento: caution, given his injury history.
Nicolas Jackson is "feeling better and better" as he settles at Villa, Unai Emery said after the Champions League win over Fenerbahçe. Ibrahim Mbaye and Johan Manzambi are among the newer players who "are getting better and showing it," he added.
"We are no contender to get this trophy." Unai Emery played down Villa's Champions League chances after beating Fenerbahçe, naming around 10 very powerful teams as the favourites. He also said the scoreline was too harsh on Fenerbahçe, who "didn't deserve this result."
Three half-time changes in Man City's Champions League defeat to PSG were partly about the Premier League game coming less than 72 hours later, Enzo Maresca said: "we need to go again." Iliman Ndiaye and Ayyoub Bouaddi came on at the break; Maresca said both were good.
"Luis also at the end, he told me that they have been quite lucky during the 95 minutes." Man City's Enzo Maresca on PSG coach Luis Enrique after the Champions League defeat. Maresca felt City deserved more after the break and are close to PSG's level.
Ibrahim Mbaye made his first European start for Villa in the Champions League win. Nicolas Jackson, his national-team teammate, wants more of it: "Hopefully... he will get more... time to play." That is a teammate's hope, not a selection call from the manager.
"I look back at them days as... the making of days like these." Sunderland's Luke O'Nien rejected comparing the club's Europa League trip to Torreense with the Papa John's Trophy. He called the campaign a privilege Sunderland worked hard for through the League One years.
Sunderland won't commit to Brian Brobbey or Habib Diarra at Torreense in the Europa League. Both travelled, but the club wants "to be sure that they will be available for the season." Thomas Meunier (not a major injury) and Wilson Isidor (Brighton knock) will be reassessed.
Rotation is coming for Sunderland at second-division Torreense in the Europa League, but not wholesale: "it's going to be necessary, required to use the rotation, but also to keep a strong core of the squad." Bournemouth and Poznań follow; depth is said to be improving.
Palace go to Lyon in the Europa League without Jean-Philippe Mateta, Dean Henderson, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben Chilwell and Chadi Riad Dnanou, Pierre Sage confirmed; otherwise everyone in the squad is available. On 3,000 travelling fans: "a really good proof of love."
Pascal Struijk's red card against Sunderland is overturned. "I heard we only had 1% chance normally," said Brighton's Fabian Hürzeler. Struijk, managed after the international break, looks set to miss the Conference League opener against Žalgiris, hoped back for Palace.
Mats Wieffer won't be ready for Palace, but Brighton's Fabian Hürzeler says "afterwards, there will be definitely then an option". Jack Hinshelwood is back in training, expected for the Conference League game against Žalgiris. Femi Azeez missed training: "no big issue."
Brighton will rotate against Žalgiris in the Conference League with six games in 17 days. Fabian Hürzeler: "there will be definitely some changes. How many, I can't say." Asked if ever-present Luka Vušković will be rested, he didn't commit; he'll be managed in the next weeks.
Georginio Rutter will play against Žalgiris in the Conference League after what Brighton's Fabian Hürzeler called his best training week at the club: "he deserves it." Rutter admitted he can be hard to work with and inconsistent in training, and that he needs to score more.
Junior Kroupi is back on the pitch but misses Bournemouth's European home game with Sturm Graz on 15 October. Marco Rose: "maybe in a few weeks". Amine Adli and Justin Kluivert return, "ready for some minutes... not for 45". Alex Scott is out "a couple of days or weeks".
Adam Smith is selected and captains Bournemouth against Sturm Graz in Europe on 15 October, Marco Rose said: "No new injuries, no problems," though some players have been ill. Rose called the Chelsea defeat "a real slap"; Smith said the players let themselves down.
Piero Hincapié's injury is worse than first thought, Arsenal's Mikel Arteta said: out "a matter of weeks", exact number unknown, though he is improving. Bukayo Saka started on the bench after an illness. Martín Zubimendi is "much, much better", no return date given.
Andoni Iraola is without his top scorers again: Cody Gakpo, Alexander Isak and Dominik Szoboszlai, hurt on international duty, miss the European game after sitting out Man City. From Liverpool's media availability: freshness and "some niggles" make an unchanged XI "difficult".
